About the College
English as a Second Language Program
At VanWest College, we prepare and guide students to meet their goals from start to finish. We provide English courses that meet the demands of students, and under the guidance of personally assigned student advisors, the students will receive individual attention and personalized education plans that are designed to enhance their skills considerably.
The English as a Second Language (ESL) program is meant for students whose mother tongue isn’t English. The objective of the program is to develop the skill of the student in speaking, writing, and reading, along with sub-skills like vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and more.
The ESL program will strengthen and develop oral/spoken and written English skills, and students are going to learn how to apply strategies for language learning from the beginner to the advanced levels. VanWest College is one of the leading ESL schools in Vancouver and Kelowna, and we encourage our students to take the time to discover more of Vancouver and Kelowna in between their English classes.
